Wood'n It Be Nice " Gallery& Gifts" As long as I can remember, I've had the ability and gift of seeing things in other things and making things out of practically nothing.. About seven years ago it actually built to the point where I gave up a career of over 15 years in order to follow my dream of becoming self suportive with my artwork..
A little bit about my craft.....These items are purposely developed to look as though they have been handed down for generations… Reclaimed fabric is used to give the vintage feel, fabric is tea stained when needed to add that extra aged appearance.. All efforts are used to help make the item appear to have been made by some one a long time ago that had very little money or resources, but had the ability to put all their heart into making a gift for a family member or friend…
"The Spark of Imagination that Leads to Creation"
MY OTHER LOCATIONS.....
Some pictures of our store..
We started out by purchasing an old building on the main street of a small mid western town, and I began what would take two years of renovating in order to get it ready for customers. I also went for about three years with out selling a single one of my creations in order to build up inventory for the big opening, then my wife and I went to market to buy things to fill in around my stuff...
I designed the back room as if you had just walked outdoors.I even made a real inlayed cement stone walk-way leading up to the door to my studio..
Real out door theme with trees filled with white lights.and a lot of grape vine and weathered barn boards, very primitive..
Displaying and arranging the merchandise was fun! With the help of my wife, we managed to mix my items in with our market finds throughout the interior of the store...I hand painted the ceiling tiles to look as though they were the old tin ceiling pannels...it was a lot of work, but it paid off..
